Chilean Mine Rescue

While interning today at 96.5 The Mountain, Jason found this game online and we got a listener to come in and we both played it to see who could save the miners the fastest.
Can you beat my time of 9:07?

(Oh and sorry for the foul language used when you win.)

Fall Break

Today top FML:
Today, it's my birthday, and the only person that called me was my boss. He wants me to cover his shift tonight. FML

Today's top MLIA:

"Yesterday, My mom talked about how pointless one-word text messages are. I disagreed with her. Today, she called me at school and said "Hi," and hung up. I finally get her point. MLIA."

I really do hate one word texts.  It's ok when your busy, sure, but I know people who do it all the time.
Case In Point:
"Hey, what's up?"
"Nothin"
"Ok cool.  So wasn't AP Stats tough today?"
"Yep"
"You busy?"
"No"
"You just aren't texting much...."
"Sorry"
So I give them a dose of their own medicine:
"It's ok."
"Ok"
"Ok"
That is pretty much how it goes.
Anyways, seeing as how I am on Fall Break, I will be going to bed soon. I really needed this break.  Maybe it's being a senior or maybe it's just that I have a lot of things going on but I needed a break.  After this break though, things will be really tightening up.
The musical at my school, Peter Pan, will be be getting down to crunch time with performances the second and third weekend of November.  With that happening, I have gotten a job acting in an independent movie that will be filming near Cleveland, TN.  Then of course there is always school. Anyways, here is a great digital short from Saturday Night Live:

Conjunction Junction

Yesterday I got to meet the one and only Bob Dorough. The creator of Schoolhouse Rock.

This man wrote and performed many of the songs.  I mean, surely everyone remembers Conjunction Junction.

He was a really nice guy.  He came by the studio so we could interview him a little.

He even had an iPhone.  Hahaha

Brown and Bubbly

I took while I was hanging out in the production studio.

I reminded me of a super bowl commercial though.
Remember that Diet Pepsi commercial from the Super Bowl a couple years back?

I love that commercial.

Let it Rock

This is probably one of the better commercials I have seen in a while.
The song + Jack makes it amazing.

Man I'll miss 24.  At least there will be a movie out soon.
Oh, by the way, who do you think would win in a fight, Jack Bauer or Chuck Norris?

I checked the web and apparently 58% of people said Norris.  Let me know what you think though.

Goat Attack

So the other day I walk into the radio station to do my internship and I get handed a task.
The task: to find out about some goat attack in Georgia.
So I go on my way, and here is what I found:

Apparently, an 88 year-old man was walking to his shop and when he looked up, a goat knocked him to the ground.
The goat reportedly watched him for an hour, knocking him to the ground whenever he tried to get up.
Eventually he got away though and was able to call for help.

Now, a little known fact about me: I live on a farm.  So I do have goats. In fact, here is a picture of my goats:

(They were all piling into the feed bin trying to eat.)

I haven't ever had a goat attack me.  I've had a cow attack me, sure.  But not a goat.

Anyways, while I was searching for this article, I found this site:

For real.  Here is a quote from their homepage:
"The Childhood Goat Trauma Foundation was created in 1982 by a small group that originally came together as a an informal support group for problems that were the result of traumatic experiences at petting zoos as children. This group realized that there were many others out there who were afraid to come forward with their horrific stories and wanted to find some way to help as many people as they could. The Childhood Goat Trauma Foundation is the result of their dream."

Take a look at their site : www.goat-trauma.org  and let me know what you think: Satire or for real.

Oh, and one more thing.
Jason Walker recorded a few sound bytes of him reading off some information found on the site about goat safety, give it a listen.  It could save your life.

The death of the chipmunks

I have watched this video multiple times but it just never gets old...

But you know what really has gotten old?  All of those Alvin and the chipmunks remixes they are making of songs. For real.

Case in point:

Anyone feel the same way?

If you don't:
You don't have to come and confess,
we're lookin for you,
we gonna find you,
we gonna find you.

The man, the myth, the legend.

Today while I was interning, I got to meet Luther Masingill.
This man started working on the radio in 1940 (yes, 70 years ago).
Plus he had a road named after him.  How cool is that?!

McDonalds

I stumbled upon something interesting the other day.  Look at this map, every orange light is a McDonalds.
Apparently, the furthest you can ever come from a McDonalds is if you go to northwest South Dakota between Meadow and Glad Valley which is 145 miles away from any McDonalds.

Hey though, I'm not complaining.  I'm a huge fan of McDonalds.
In fact, I'm pretty sure there are many huge fans of McDonalds. (Pun intended)
Feel free to comment and let me know what you think about this.

Video of the Day:
First of all, if you haven't seen the original video watch it here:

Ok, now after that little jewel, watch this video:

Oh the joys of autotune.

A little about me...

Let's see here.
I'll start with a little dose of me....

I have lived 17 years so far, and on December 21st it will be 18 years.
I am a senior in a high school in Chattanooga, TN.
I am currently an intern at 96.5 The Mountain.
I'm a Christian.

I have two sisters, Emily and Laura, and one brother named Mark.
I'm an actor.  I have done many shows onstage as well as some independent films.
I used to be obsessed with LOST but now that the show is done, I probably need to find a new show.

This goes out to the mother-fathers out there. Word.

Daily Rants

I started this blog today for those of you who feel so inclined to read it.  So feel free to grab a drink, sit down and stay a while.  I’ll update it when I can.  Anyways, here are the stats of the day:
Today’s top MLIA:
“Four years ago, when i was 18, i noticed that at night my front window is very reflective so i was pretending to dive in slow motion and shoot, dual pistol style. Suddenly a really hot girl walked past and i was startled and fell over. Embarrassed i waited for a bit and then stood up. As i stoop up i saw her slowly shooting an imaginary rifle from behind a car. We then proceeded to do this for 10 minutes until she did an extremely dramatic death. She wasn’t getting up so i went outside to meet her. Once i got to where she was, there was nothing but a piece of paper with a mobile number on it. Today, we are getting married. MLIA”
Today’s top FML:
“Today, I took the bus to work and a sweet old lady got on after me and sat next to me. Halfway to work, she fell asleep and her head was on my shoulder. Trying to be nice, I gently tried to wake her up before my stop came. She wasn’t sleeping. I let a dead woman lie on me for 30 minutes. FML”
Ok off to homework, I shall be on later.  This really can be a time-sucker.  Oh and also, videos coming soon. Don't worry.

Most Played song on my iPod:
(As of 8/24)
Dirty Little Secret - All American Rejects
